Apple Watch Charging cables

Just purchased a Apple Watch series 2 for my wife. I have an original Series 1 Apple Watch. Are the charging cables interchangable?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

Yes, the charging cables can be used to charge either of your watches.
