You have to hold down on the message for five seconds for it to work! I.e to show the copy and more options

Thank you so much! Been searching all sorts of articles in order to see the 'more' button in order to forward texts. It was my hold and release all along. Happy.
I am trying to copy a part of a message in the messages app. I often copy numbers, contacts etc. and then paste them to other places. After i updated to latest iOS, it is only possible to copy the entire message. If i try to highlight/select part of the message as before, it brings up these ridiculous response bubbles. I would gladly turn this feature off, but i cannot find where to do that. (text copied from "johny24" the same issue mentioned in Mac OS, I fully agree to this also in iOS on iPhone 6, iPad mini, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s)

Ug- I’m having the same problem. Just the top response icons are coming up, but no option to copy and paste
That only brings up the top bubbles for me, but no copy option below 😣
Tap and hold on the message you want to copy and tap Copy from the menu that pops up on the bottom.
To paste you can either tap and hold or double tap into the text field.
When I tap and hold the message I want to copy, all i see pop up are the icons like the heart, up/down thumbs, etc. I am not seeing the copy/more... option.
Were you able to figure out how to see Copy/More on your screen? I can see it on my screen, but my mom can't see it on hers. We both have 10.0.02. Thank you.
I still have the problem, but my nephew is helping me. Just this morning he told me that the "Press and hold is the key." I guess I just don't have the iPhone "touch". I tried it again and was able to get the "Copy/More" pop-up once so I'm guessing it's just a matter of my either trying too hard or putting too much thought into it. Hope this helps your mother!
That's got to be it!! Thank you! I naturally press and hold my finger down on the screen, and I always get the Copy/More to show up. I'm almost certain she's tapping the texts instead of pressing and holding. It must be an age differe thing. 🙂 Sharing this with her and I hope it will solve the issue.
I'm unable to copy entire message. Message has a time (9 am) in it and that's all that gets copied.

frankly, and this will get deleted I am sure - just another example of ****ing up free ice cream with this abomination of an OS.
guess I held my nose just right one time and neither those stupid icons popped up, nor did it try to create a calendar event for the time in the text. Finally, after trying the tap and hold 6 times, the copy/more box appeared.
Tap and release, then tap, hold and release is correct, but you need wait a fraction of a second longer than you might think between the first tap and the second tap, hold and release for the copy/more window to come up. It feels unnaturally slow, but it works.
I use yo be able to print a reply from text messages. It was very helpful for directions or data to long to memorize.
It was so easy with old IOS 9.
