Q: iPad update airplay issues

I just updated my iPad mini to 10.0.2 and now airplay doesn't recognise my airport express. Granted it's an older one so I updated that too. Still no go although it finds both our apple TVs.

It worked fine before the update and now I'm reluctant to update my iPhone 6 in case I lose that too as I run the whole house stereo by airplay.

Help!

    Hi  anniraes,

Thanks for your question.  It sounds like you've updated your iPad mini and your Airport Express, but you're having trouble with AirPlay as a result.   The first thing I would suggest is to "recycle the power to your modem/router," which means to:

    1) Turn off your iPad mini
    2) Unplug the power to your router, then your modem. (Unless you have a combination modem/router.).
    3) Wait a few minutes and plug your modem in first, then your router, and when all of the status lights indicate you are connected, 4) Turn on your iPad mini.

Sometimes this simple process of reinitializing your devices and establishing a new connection to your wireless network is all that is needed.  First try to use AirPlay between your iPad mini and your Apple TV, using the Apple TV for sound.   If that works, then try connecting to your Airport Express and house stereo.

If you still cannot connect through your AirPort Express, please reply to this thread with more details regarding your setup (ie. Are you using wired or wireless (Bluetooth) speakers?)
