Q: News app disappeared

I just updated to iOS 10. A News app appeared that looked useful. However, I changed the region from US to France so I could use dates properly (although I am in the US I prefer DDMMMYYYY) and the News app disappeared. How do I get it back?

iPhone 5s, iOS 10.0.2

When you change your region, downloads you made from the App Store in one region are no longer available in another region.

Each region has its own App Store, and some content and some apps are not available in all regions.

I guess this makes sense as an explanation, but not as a practice. Why not tie content apps to Location? Having to misdirect the region in order to correct the date format is the most annoying "quirk" in the system - causes lots of stuff to get out of whack.

News is currently only available in the U.S., UK, and Australia.

See above. I am in the US; driven to use european region to have proper date formatting. maybe I'll try UK, but hope it doesn't screw up my spelling.
