I understand that your newly-purchased BMW and your 2013 Jeep Wrangler are both unable to play audio from your iPhone connected via USB. I'd like to help you get to a solution.
Here are some troubleshooting steps that I'd like you to start with:
If you're using USB Playback
- Restart your iOS device and your car.
- Connect your iOS device to a different stereo USB port (if you have one).
- Try a different USB cable.
- Update your iOS device.
- Install any firmware updates for your car stereo.
- Try playing audio from a different app. If you can't play audio from a specific third-party app, contact the app developer for help. If you can't play audio from an Apple app, contact Apple Support.

Take care! -
Oct 6, 2016 4:13 PM in response to urbanaboriginalby King of Pumkins,My AT&T 7 wouldn't stay connected to the audio Bluetooth in my BMW. If I disabled this feature then I could use Siri etc. I returned the 7 yesterday and am back using my 6s. Works fine even with iOS 10.
I had trouble getting Apple to help. Got a case number and never heard back. Not a great experience and will probably not get AppleCare in the future after several bad experiences.
