Q: Cannot type in login screen
Help!
When starting cold or doing a restart, I have difficulty typing my login password. If I hold a key down for a second or two the dot for the letter/number will appear in repeat mode. A single tap on a key does nothing. I am able to quickly lift my finger to enter just one character (dot). If too many characters are entered, careful use of the delete key remove unwanted characters. Eventually, I am able to enter a password.
Once logged in, the keyboard works flawlessly. Also, if booted in safe mode, the keyboard works properly to enter a password.
The keyboard problem only occurs when trying to enter a password in the normal login screen.
How do I fix this?
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), HP 4500 G510n-z Mult-function Print
