Q: Pages document opens randomly at beginning

Hello friends,

WHY is a pages document of several pages randomly opening at the beginning of the document instead of at the end, where left off? There was an update about a year ago, after this this occurred. Then another update after which, it was said, this issue was gone again. Well - no. Ever since, no matter whether the document has five pages or 65 pages, at random suddenly Pages opens at the start page. No matter whether I have touched that document only recently or three days ago.

Very annoying.

Nothing random nor new about this.

Pages 5 has never paid any attention to the state of the document when saved.

    Pages '09 does.

Actually, when I bought this Mac 18 months ago, it worked nicely like that - it did pay attention to this, as you word it. Then an update came and this issue came up, and back then I read online that others also had that issue. But apparently nobody bothered and just accepted it. Still, it is very annoying.

We deal all the time with users who imagine all kinds of things, but the fact is Pages 5 has never retained the state of documents when closed. Not their position on screen, nor their view, nor where you last clicked or typed or anything.

I use both Pages '09 and Pages 5.x and it is obvious what both are doing and not doing.

I even notice the marked visual differences between the two versions which seems to escape most users.

Well. Thank you for your rude and arrogant response. I do/did not imagine anything.

But let it be. I rather deal with this issue in Pages than with your responses.

    Have a nice day.
