if it prompted you for a user/pass it will do this if something wants to make a system change or install.

From what you describe, you are in middle of work when it happens, which is very odd. Are there any crash reports?

The time I asked this question was the last time the problem happened to my macbook pro and hopefully it won't happen again in future. But I am still afraid that it is kind of power problem, that I just remembered that the problem occured when I plugged power to my macbook.

I forget to tell you that the problem happened when I first plugged power to my macbook. No crash report, but it hasn't happened again since the time I asked this question.
About your suggestion to try resetting SMC, I will consider to implement it if the same problem happens again in future. Just bookmarked that article... Thanks for helping!
