Q: extremely low wifi download rate

Since the update to Windows 10 in Boot Camp the download rate via Wifi is extremely low. It is not faster than 800 KB/s, mostly around 200 KB/s. When I start my Mac with MacOS X I have a high download rate of about 16,000 KB/s. Windows guys only advice to disable the P2P function of the Windows updater, which I already did, but it influences only the upload rate (which is okay). The broadcom driver for the Wifi is from 2012. I tried to update it with the Boot Camp Assistant but the installer wants me to find a BootCamp.msi file which I can't find. Therefore I downloaded the latest Windows Support Software from within Windows. The latest is from 2015. The installer does not run at all because my Mac is not supported.

Windows has just downloaded another 700+ MB update and is now updating again. Whenever I startup this system it updates something. I used an online speedtest because iPerf does not run. It reports a download peak of 3500 KB/s and upload 900 KB/s.

Did Windows update the driver after BC drivers were installed? What is the current version of the drivers?

No, the version remains the same 7.35.118.40. The recent Windows update seems to improve the download rate a bit. I test-downloaded a Steam game of the size of about 250 MB. The rate was around 2000 KB/s and the download lasted not very long. I think, I can live with it as I use Boot Camp Windows exclusively for gaming.

Excellent. Please backup Windows and create a Windows System Restore point. W10 is notorious for bad/forced updates which cause problems for Macs.
