Q: Hey Siri - Stop Listening and Process Command

I recently got a new iPhone 7 and I'm using a Bluetooth headset.  I would like to be able to use "Hey Siri" commands with my iPhone but there's a problem.  When I say "Hey Siri" and then issue a Siri command, Siri just continues listening and doesn't recognize the command is complete.  How can I tell Siri that the command is complete and tell her to process it?  It will eventually time out listening and process the command after some number of seconds of silence but there's got to be a way that I can terminate a Siri command without waiting for a timeout.  On the iPhone itself, I can click on the audio at the bottom of the screen to tell it to stop listening and start processing but I'm hoping I can find a way to do the equivalent of that through my Bluetooth headset without having to physically manipulate the iPhone.

    Hi there, ChuckGC3!

It looks like Siri hears your "Hey Siri" command to activate, but isn't hearing your voice afterwards on your iPhone 7 Plus on iOS 10.0.2 using your Bluetooth headset. Since she's hearing your first command, I'll be glad to help you get her to do what you need.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Before troubleshooting any device, I always recommend a fresh backup. It's better to "have" one than to "need" a backup.

    1. Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- First, quit all of the currently running applications, then Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- Never underestimate the power of a good restart.

    2. Check on maufacturer's website of your bluetooth headphones and make sure the firmware is up-to-date.

    3. Get help connecting a Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- If those steps haven't helped, try re-pairing your iPhone with your headphones when the issue happens again and let me know the result.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities and have a great day!

You've misunderstood.  Siri *Is* hearing my voice command - that's not the problem.  Here's what's happening:

    1. I say "Hey Siri"

    2. Siri starts listening

    3. I issue a command like "find nearest restaurant"

    4. Siri continues listening and doesn't recognize that the command is finished

The problem is that Siri gets stuck at step #4 above waiting for me to say something else.  After some number of seconds, it will eventually time-out and process the command but I don't want to wait some number of seconds for it to time-out.  How do I tell Siri that the command is complete and process the command?  I know how to do this on my iPhone by tapping on the voice pattern on the bottom of the screen but I would like to be able to do it through my blue tooth headset without having to access the iPhone directly.
