Does iDVD still work in Sierra?

Does anyone else still use iDVD with FCP X?

If so, have you tried it out in Sierra and does it still work?

OS X El Capitan (10.11.2), Mac mini i5 2.5GHz & iMac FCP X

I have iDVD 7.1.2 and have not been able to get it to run on Sierra 10.12.2 or the latest 10.12.3. I can open it, but the first time I select a button, such as Media, it crashes. Sometimes it doesn't get that far. I have tried all of the posted suggestions I can find, such as trashing all related pref files, etc and doing a new install but it still crashes right off.

It can work but it's quite prone to freezing in Sierra. I have iDVD 7.1.2 (the latest, I think), macOS Sierra 10.12.1 (again, up to date), and a mid 2011 iMac 27", with loads of RAM and disk. I was able to burn 2 DVDs but it's freezing during encoding the third, and that's just creating a disk image, not even burning to a blank.

Lots of people still need DVDs, so I hope iDVD can come back to stability.

I've tried Toast Titanium, and while it gets the job done, the themes are pretty basic ("ugly", IMO), and the main DVD menu won't remember which video you last watched so it always selects the first video when you go back to the menu.
