Q: Containt of Mailboxes "On my Mac" disapaeared

Hello I'm manually moving my data from an old Macbook Air running El Capitain to a new one. Moving the containg of ~/Library/Mail over did not work at all. I had to follow the advice in very useful article posted by "apple_mikey" (Re: Restore Yosemite emails into El Capitan). The problem I now have is that the content of  the mailboxes "On My Mac" have not moved over. All the mailboxes show up on the new machine but without their contents (actual e-mails). I have tried to rebuild them without success. I don't know what I did wrong. Any hint or idea how to move the content "on my Mac" mailboxes over?

Thanks.

    Hi, Leidamu!

Thanks for reaching out via the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand you are trying to migrate data from one MacBook Air to another, but haven't been able to get the e-mail contents in the On My Mac mailbox to transfer successfully. I know it's important to have access to all your messages, and would be happy to help!

I would suggest exporting the mailboxes from the old computer, and then transferring the exported files to your new computer where you can then import them back into Mail. The article below will help you with exporting and importing your mailboxes.

    Cheers!
