Q: Logic Pro X isn't reading the sound library files stored in my external drive

Hi,

I bought a 2TB Glyph Studio Mini a little over a month ago in order to store my sound library files on. Currently, I have my Alchemy Samples, EHX Factory Samples, Ultrabeat Samples, and Apple Loops stored on the Glyph. The issue is that Logic Pro X isn't detecting many of them. When I open Logic, a message appears notifying me that I must install the "essential collection of sounds" to proceed, but I already have them stored in my Glyph. When I avoid that by clicking "download later," I notice that the many instruments in my sound library appear as faded with a white download symbol to their right. It's incredibly frustrating. How to make it so that Logic Pro X can fully process all the sound library files I have stored in the Glyph? None of the Electronic Drum Kit files can be processed and the same goes for many of the Synthesizer and Arpeggiator files as well. Please help!

I am do not know whether there is a way to select the file directory for your samples in Logic itself - if that exists I have not found it either.

One way to fix your problem is to create links to the directories on your Glyph in the place where Logic expects the samples. Below is my path to the samples. If you replace the directories with links to your Glyph you should be fine. You can probably create link to the "Logic" directory, that would solve it all in one go.

Loops are stored in HD > Library > Audio
