Q: Pages 6: Large gap after apostrophe

I imported an earlier version Pages doc.

 

Within this doc, use of a single apostrophe (') is followed by a large gap before any additional characters.

 

It does this with different fonts and different paragraph styles.

 

It doesn't seem to do this in newly created docs.

 

I can't figure out how or where this might be adjusted or set. Any thoughts?

Select that character and double check the font, and switch it to Arial or Helvetica.  It could be that some how a Chinese or Korean font has been used there.  These can have wide punctuation characters.

    Thanks. I'd already tried another font, but apparently the font I tried was of the subset that showed this same issue. I decided to try again with a more common font and it worked. I'm a bit abashed, but appreciative.
