Q: Iphone 6S Plus drops to black sporadically since 10.0.2 update

No spinning icon, just black. Fortunately I don't lose where I was...yet. Sometimes the touch screen doesn't work either

Let's start by following the steps in the following link, in the section called "If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up": If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on.
If you've experienced this more often than normal, you'll want to backup with these steps here: How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Once complete, Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings. This will allow iTunes to download a fresh copy of the iOS for your device and you'll be able to restore from a previously stored backup.
