Q: Can I download airport firmware update.

Oops, should be,Can I download airport firmware update onto MacBook Pro and install it from there?

    Yes, but it is tricky.

     

    The firmware should be updated with the Airport connected by ethernet to the network. If that is not possible.. then I simply would ignore the update.. most of the updates are security and if the airport is not online it is unlikely to be a security risk.

    If you cannot figure out where to find the firmware.. please give me the exact model of your airport.


    The number I really want is extracted from the export of the configuration. Just search in textedit for syAM and syAP and copy and paste the result. It is that number which tells me the exact model and the firmware that it will need.
