Let's see if we can't post the whole User Tip.

    Auto-Capitalization: Pages 6

When I first installed macOS Sierra a day after it was released, I went into the System Preferences : Keyboard : Text panel and enabled these two settings:

Then I launched Pages 6, and it did not automatically fix the first word of sentences. This evening, I performed a Safe Boot of macOS Sierra, and cleared the entire contents of my local Library : Caches folder, rebooted normally, and then emptied my Trash. Probably I only needed to remove the Pages content of that Caches folder. I also wondered if there was more that I could do to enable the auto-capitalization issue in Pages v6.

In the Edit menu : Spelling and Grammar menu item, there are two sub-menu items that are required to get the auto-capitalization to work:

If you don't have these checked, then no auto-capitalization of sentences will take place. Of course, this comes at a high distraction price, because auto-capitalization is not silent. Each first word of the sentence will pop up and float over your work until you press the space bar to move on to the next word.

This behavior is independent of whether you have Edit menu : Substitutions : Text Replacement enabled or not.

Unrelated to the new auto-capitalization feature, you can just type all of your first words of sentences in lower case. Then you can choose the Edit menu : Spelling and Grammar : Show Spelling and Grammar panel. On it, you select check grammar, and then click Next. It will flag each lower case, first word of sentence, and offer to capitalize it for you, if you select Change. This was available in Pages v5.6.2.

You're welcome. Actually VikingOSX gets all the credit. I just made the tip more accessible.
