LCD not working after attempt to replace cracked screen
I have a iPhone 6s Plus with a minor cracked screen. I have successfully replaced screens on other i-devices but not yet a 6s plus. I followed directions from good videos and immediately ran into problems. First of all when removing the ribbon cables, in the video(s) they all removed 4 cables to disconnect the screen. My phone only had 3 connecting the screen assembly to the case. I didn't realize this difference until trying to re-assemble the new screen with the home button and ear piece, etc. My second issue was that the metal plate behind the LCD that was suppose to be transferred to the new screen did not include a ribbon cable for the touch id to connect to like the video(s) showed, nor did all the screw holes line up to the new screen. Anyway, I concluded (but need official conformation) that I was watching videos related to the 6 not 6S, and furthermore coincidentally mistakenly purchases a 6 plus screen (not 6S plus screen). With that verbal description, can anyone confirm that?
On to my second more important problem now. After possibly realizing that the new screen is the wrong one, I proceeded to reassemble the original cracked screen. After reconnecting the ribbon cables to the case the screen would not display anything. I ran into this problem once before and learned that a simple disconnect/reconnect of the battery fixed it that time, but I tried that and it didn't work this time. I thought that maybe I somehow damaged the lcd in the process so I tried to connect just the LCD of the new screen (I assume was the correct cable because it was the only one that was the same size/shape that fit into the board) but still no display.
Things to note though:
When the phone is connected to the charger it does NOT chime like it usually does, but if connected to my computer, iTunes DOES recognize it.
Any suggestion as to why the LCD may not work now? And can someone confirm my assumption that I bought a 6 plus screen not a 6S plus screen as needed?
