    Thanks for the video. The original has the letter boxing on it correct? What's are the specs of the original video? You're scaling it up to 133%, which is really more than you want to go. You should see softening of the image when you do that, depending on the original.

    Yes, the original has letter boxing. Although I didn't use the Final Cut effect "letterbox." I just placed black bars over the video. So am I actually losing quality by doing that then?

     

    Is there a way that I can just remove the black bars and change the resolution of the video from 1920x1080 to 1920x817 without losing any quality/softening the image?
