Q: iphone 5s mic problems on ios 10.2

I have had this iPhone 5s for almost 3 years now and just recently did the software update to ios 10.2. I can now only communicate with speakerphone while on a call. Heres the weird thing...when I call someone they cant hear me but when someone calls me I cant hear them!?!? Did the voice memos test and cant hear ANYTHING from my recorded message. Ive done the soft reset, (back to factory settings) network reset, turned off noise cancellation, turned on hearing aid mode, and made sure nothing was blocking/clogging mic holes as well as headphone jack. My home button has also gave me issues to where it only works when pressed at top right edge, could these two problems be related? How do I fix this issue?! PLEASE HELP!

    If I’m understanding your post right, you're unable to hear sound on incoming call, and when you make an outgoing call, the other person can't hear you. Also, your Home button is not responding unless it's pressed in a certain manner. I definitely want you to be able to enjoy using your iPhone, so I’m glad you reached out for help with this. 


    You have done some awesome troubleshooting steps so far. As far as additional basic troubleshooting steps go, I recommend removing any protectors, films, or cases that you have on your iPhone, unplugging any accessories connected to your device, and disabling Bluetooth. You can disable Bluetooth in Settings > Bluetooth. Once you have done all of this, test out your iPhone. 


    If you continue to have the same issues, the next step would be to back up your iPhone and restore it to factory settings using iTunes on a computer. This is going to help us narrow down wether you're experiencing something software or hardware related, and may possibly fix the issue as well. We recommend backing up your iPhone first since the restore is going to erase everything on it. If you aren't already familiar with the steps, you can find them in the following support articles:

    Once your iPhone is restored, set it up As New so that you can test out your iPhone with nothing on it. After you've tested it all out, you can then restore your backup using the steps in the following support article:
