iPod Touch 6th Generation touch screen won't work

Ok so i woke up this morning, grabbed my iPod Touch then started surfing the net, i went to a page and the touch screen froze, i gave it a few mins thinking "the processor just need to catch up", a few mins pass so i try to scroll through the site page and the touchscreen still doesnt reespond, so then i start speculating "Faulty iPod Touch" "CPU Processor fried itself" "Touchscreen blew a fuse" then i tried a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button, but the touchscreen wasn't working so i was unable to slide the slider to turn the iPod off, thenn i double clicked the home button twice which worked as expected, i tried to close all windows but touchscreen didnt respond, after that i said to myself\

"Ok so a $300AUD 16gb iPod Touch 6th Generation in Product Red has just went faulty on me, THAT'S F*****G BRILLIANT"

now its to be noted i do have an apple tech store where i live, so i will not pull the iPod Touch apart, mostly because i have no experience in fixing Apple products, so i'm better off leaving it to those in the know.

But before i take it to the apple tech store i have to establish the primary problem, and i'll establish it with this question

What happened to my iPod Touch?

null-OTHER, Windows 10
