Q: Issues after upgrading to iOS 10.0.2

Hi,

I appreciate that the latest update has fixed my "grey bars appearing at the top of the screen rendering the phone unusable" however, my iPhone now will randomly close out whatever app I am in and revert to the lock screen. This makes for a very frustrating experience. On iPhone 6 plus (Verizon) iOS version 10.0.2 (14A456) Model MGCP2LL/A. Any help would be appreciated.

If I may I would also like to voice my detest for the latest feature that requires me to press the home button to unlock as opposed to simply lightly pressing my finger to the reader? A usability PITA!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having issues with the apps not staying open on your device. I know how important it is to be sure the apps and the phone are working properly at all times. First, check out this article with steps to Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If that doesn't work, it would be a good idea to be sure there is not a software issue as the root cause of this for you.

Check out this article for the steps for How to backup your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Use this article for the steps to Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings.

Once that is done, set the phone up as new and test the phone to see if the issue is still going on. Then, follow this article to Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Thanks for the advice. The issue isn't just that apps do not stay open, they close and the phone essentially logs me out and I have to enter in my PIN to access the phone again. Is your recommendations still the same given this?

Hi, drankthekool-aid!

It sounds like you mean the phone is locking on its own randomly if you mean it's asking for the passcode. If so, then yes, this would be a good place to go with the steps to see about getting this taken care of.
