I cannot screenshot Netflix

Workaround, not perfect but... pause when you want the screenshot, home button, double click home, finger skills to get biggest unhindered image, then if you want you can crop and edit. Just did it for 7 deadly sins. This scene had me rolling, what happened to other guy??? Closeup blue dramatics.... "he ...... died.... mid-bite. Hahaha

Screenshots from both Netflix and Movies result in a blank screen. Seems like a perfectly valid form of protection for copyrighted content.

Double tap the home button to open the app closing thingy, and then take the screenshot. You'll have to crop it though

Actually the screenshot thing while in the tabs doesn't work now I just tried it today and it's a black screen which is really ******* me off it feels like Netflix is just controlling my screen and telling me I can't screenshot the video...lol it's annoying...I only found out they don't allow screenshots anymore today although it worked on a video I downloaded on Netflix so idk maybe they have to be downloaded...also what show was that the Simpsons?

Seems like iOS 10 is honoring a copy protection flag from Netflix –– frustrating, but that's a content provider's prerogative these days.

And no disrespect to bryan.vance's reply (really!), but who at Apple is recommending some of these posts? Are they deflecting responsibility or not really reading the context of the questions?

I put my phone in airplane mode then I was able to screenshot anything from Netflix.

I see. All you have to do is tap the power and tap the home button quick at the same time. I'm running IOS 10 in developer mode and haven't had a problem yet. If I do, I'll be sure to let you know. Hope this helps!

The timing has changed a bit.

You have to hit both buttons at the same time.

You can no longer hold the power button and tap home

I tried the screenshot suggestion and it will click and show the picture but when you go into photo screenshot it is still a black screen.

HELLO i too make memes! and its so frustrating and awkward when i take a screen shot of netflix ( forgetting its just a black screen by now ) and go to send it to someone only to realize YET AGAIN its just a blank screen. it makes me feel like i took my netflix memes forgranted, i think it must be a copying thing because ive tried tips and tricks like pressing the buttons in different speeds and even double tapping home ( so all the app screen tabs show) and trying to crop the netflix screen tab like some kinda sneaky little snake and even the tab screen is black.... really dissapointed i cant see them giving it back. i wonder why they even took it away doh? ...

That actually wouldn't work either unfortunately...the only thing I think works is if you download the episode because the same day I figured out the screenshots now end up all just black screens one screenshot worked earlier for an episode of my show hat I downloaded...so idk if it was just a glitch that it worked or that they have to be downloaded...turning off wifi and stuff didn't work and neither what you said which many others have suggested to later find out it doesn't work either. But thanks for the reply :)

The same thing has been happening to me. I'm an editor, and when I go to take screenshots of moments for movies on Netflix from tumblr I get a blank screen. It really upsets me in the fact I can't do what I want to do.

My thought exactly! The original poster asked why their Netflix screenshots are blank, not how to take a screenshot... which is why I was puzzled as to why Apple would recommend bryan vance's screenshot tutorial comment.

Ok sure that's ok that's fine. At least it would be if I didn't rely on screenshots for my post binge sanity recharge. I need those. I can't just watch a whole season and not capture the best facial expressions. I'm outraged.
