Very annoying downloading additional sound library error!!!!!!!!!!!!

User uploaded file

I had to reinstall the OSX and after installing Logic Pro X and trying to download all the additional content I keep getting this very unpleasant message. Do not know what else to do! This is really killing me!! I have to quit Logic and reopen, because the download status changes to "IDLE" after the error! So reopening Logic, I try resuming the download, but 10 times is okay, but after the 100th I'm about to throw it on the floor!!

I have done this before and I never had any sort of problem.

Please somebody help me, it's been a day and half trying to download this and I'm not even half way there.

Hello Ionnie,

I have just received and e-mail from App Store Support (for purchased Apps), about this problem we have, and guess what? They probably don't have a clue, because the only thing the guy said was that it wasn't him the person to help me and sent me some link that does nothing to solve the problem!!

BUT!!! I just found out that, inside Logic, you will see these arrows right beside the missing stuff:

so I tried clicking on the arrow, one by one, and it is working. I haven't had problem with it yet, but I'm not done yet, as you may see in the picture.

Anyway, hope I have helped!!

The first step would be to download it in small chunks.

Open Logic > Sound Library > Sound Library Manager and select only one (and a small one) of the library items. Then see whether that works OK. That way you you can tell whether you have a Logic issue or an internet issue.

My guess is that if you do it all at once, then one error/disconnect cancels the whole download/install.

BenB, thanks for the answer, but it actually doesn't solve the problem... I had the internet connection tested and it's fine... I also downloaded other stuff, as I said, I reinstalled the OSX, so I had to start from zero and the internet connection is working just fine...

What I am doing now is download every sound one by one and I have noticed that "Apple Loops > Tech House" is one of the "broken links". But most of the download, even after the error message, leaves me the option of resuming it after reopening Logic, this one doesn't, it keeps coming back to the very beginning of it. Its size is 89.3Mb and after downloading 85Mb it fails, not at an exact point, but always after the 85Mb of download.

As I said, I have reinstalled Logic Pro X more than once before and I always select to download all the content at once, I leave it through the night downloading, and I have never had any sort of problem such as this one. There must be a problem with the server, I must guess.

But the thing is, I could present other "sound data" such as "Tech House" from Apple Loops that is giving me a hard time to download, but I still don't know what to do to solve the problem. Do you, or anybody, suggest me anything to do?

BenB, do you have any idea where the download files go while they're still downloading? I am having a very similar, if not identical issue. I encounter the same issue whether or not I'm downloading everything or just one sound. I would love to delete the files and try starting over for a third consecutive day, but can't figure out where the files are.

Thanks!

Hi Ionnie, it may sound strange, but I'm happy to see that I'm not alone in this. I would be happier if none of this was happening, but anyway...

Try selecting everything on the list to download but these two:

Drum Kit > Stereo Drum Kits > Songwriter Kits (FAIL)

Apple Loops > Tech House (FAIL)

I downloaded everything these two... not one single error, even though I download one by one... but you can try selecting it all but these, because there is nothing I can do to download these, so I understand that there must be an error on the server, not in our computer... I found the folder to try deleting, on:User uploaded file

but it didn't make absolutely any difference.

Hope this will help you! Good luck!
