IPOD touch 3 Gen will not let me sign on with my Apple ID

Question

IPOD touch 3 Gen will not let me sign on with my Apple ID

I have a 3 Generation IPOD touch and it will not let me sign on the IPOD touch to get any apps.

But I can signon to apple on my Windows 7 computer ( with that ID different than my main Apple ID) and look at apple info in the IPOD 3 Gen on line.

I wanted to go to the APPS store and download a older version of and app for the touch. But when I sign on the IPOD touch is says wrong password? But I can sign on with my apple ID on line ?

Help!! what Am I doing wrong.

NOTE: This was my wifes OLD IPOD touch and she did not want it any more . I have a very specific use for it . So I reformatted it under a different email and Apple ID.

Just where are you trying to sign in?

Is anyone now signed i in Settings>iTunes and App Store?

I am in the Settings "STORE" my Apple ID is showing although all automatic downloads are turned off as I usually choose and pick what I want to down load and update.

My Apple ID for that account is hal111111@sbcglobal.net and it is showing in the settings under Store.

Just where did you try to sign in and can't?

Apps are locked to the ID that purchased them. To update you have to sing into the account/ID that purchased them. That may be what is causing your problem

I looked in Icloud settings and when I reputed the information into the ipod after wiping it it had created a second account under the same email address. I dumped the second account created after I signed in and tried to sign into the second account that was showing.

When I dumped the second account it ask me for my password but this time it gave me an email connected with it and it gave me my wife's email? How do I change who this ipod is registered to Do I have to wipe it again and then enter my email and hope it open up in my email not my wives?

I did this when I wiped it last time and it still was connected to my wives apple account?
