Error font display on web browser (after installing new font)

Hello,

I have just install some new fonts (via Font Book), and now my browser (both Google Chrome, and Safari) displays in one of those new installed fonts, i will call it 'error font', i dont know why, maybe the font is conflict with system.

Now, in every webpage that with no specified font element, that element (button, paragraph, text...) will turn into that 'error font'.

As you can see picture below is my google search page, and google mail.

Repeat, i have checked in both Google Chrome and Safari, the same problem.

I have tried:

- Cleared browser cache.

- Removed the error font.

- Restarted.

- Cleared the system font cache.

Still can't fix it.

Please help!

Welcome phudq90,

Thanks for posting on the Apple Support Communities. I see that you installed a font via Font Book, and that font now shows up in both Safari and Chrome. I certainly see the concern. I will be more than happy to help.

You have done a lot of great steps so far. The first thing I would suggest would be to boot to Safe Mode. This will clear out some additional system cache files and will hopefully revert the font in the browsers back to default. Rebooting will exit Safe Mode.

Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support

(You can disregard the part where it says “if your Mac doesn’t finish starting up”)

Next if that doesn’t resolve the issue, lets see if the issue is system wide. Try seeing if the font has been changed in a new user account. Here are the steps for that:
