Ipod Has No Sound from Headphone jack

Hi. I have this problem with my Ipod Nano [7th Gen] and it's driving me nuts. Most of all, I have no idea how this could have happened. It has not been dropped or damaged, or whatever.

Anyway, No sound comes out when i plug my Ipod through headphone jack. The song still plays but there is nothing. No sound.

This happens on all headphones. At first I thought it was my headphones that were broken but it's not its the Ipod Headphone Jack.

I have checked for dust, etc, in the jack and pulled out some with tweezers, but still no luck there is still no audio.

However, the Ipod still works when I connect it to a Bluetooth Device.

Is there a fix for this issue? Google search couldn't find anything useful. Thanks.

I don't know if this iPod is brand new to you or not, but make sure headphones plug is fully inserted into iPod's headphones jack. It should click into place. The fit may be tighter than expected, especially when brand new.

If that does not help, in case volume setting is stuck on Mute for some reason, go to iPod's onboard Settings screen, and select Reset Settings. This puts iPod's onboard settings back to default.

If that does not help, do a Restore on iPod. This erases iPod and sets it to "factory" default. The Restore button is on iPod's Summary settings screen in iTunes. If problem is not resolved, the cause is likely to be a hardware problem on iPod.

Hi! Thanks for replying.
I have tried pushing the headphones all the way in. It clicks, but still no sound.

I was unaware that Ipod Nanos had a "mute" option. But I have resetted it by holding home and power countless times and hasn't fixed the sound problem.

I have tried to do a system restore but sadly that hasn't helped.

Looks like i'll have to stick with Bluetooth for now, unfortunately.

Hello just replying back to let you know I fixed my Ipod because you said i should fit the cable in all the way through. I tried this again and it worked ! I must not have been pushing it in hard enough. The sound is back now ! Thanks so much !
