Q: Monitoring video output with T-Tap

I am currently using a Moshi thunderbolt to HDMI converter and it makes my iMac display flash. Would using an AJA T-tap fix this?

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3), 32 gig RAM

    The adapter may be faulty.

Try using a different Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter, loan one temporarily and see if it works. There is no reason an adapter should do what you describe.

An AJA T-tap is a different league from a run-of-the-mill tb-hdmi adapter (and priced accordingly).

If all you need is connect a secondary display, it is overkill.

Thanks Luis for the quick reply. I know T-Taps are pricey but AJA makes a great product. I may try another Thunderbolt to HDMI first per your recommendation.

    Thanks.
