Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, BryanCBT.
If I’m understanding your post right, the size of the font of email messages in your Mail app is too small, and you're finding it difficult to read. I'm happy to help you with a solution for this so you can start enjoying Mail in iOS 10.
You can actually very easily change the font on your iPhone in Settings > Display & Brightness > Text Size. If you need font sizes even bigger, you can do so in Accessibility settings. Here are the steps:
Make the font even bigger
- Go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Larger Text (or Larger Type in iOS 7).
- Turn on Larger Accessibility Sizes (or Larger Dynamic Type in iOS 7) for bigger font options.
- Drag the slider to select the font size you want.
Turn on other Accessibility settings
Go to Settings > General > Accessibility to make the text bold, increase the contrast, or invert the colors on your screen.
Change the font size on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
There are also some additional Accessibility features available for vision needs. You can view all of them here: iOS. A wide range of features for a wide range of needs.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care. -
Oct 2, 2016 9:58 AM in response to braden85by BryanCBT,Thank you for responding to my concern. However, I have done this and I am aware of the Font size slider, etc. I made words larger. This has still not corrected the problem. Messages I received in my email are erratic in that certain ones are large and I can read however there still remains many emails with the smaller print. In addition, the trailers to the email [previous emails] still appear in a very small font. Unfortunately this problem persists.

Hello again, BryanCBT.
It's actually normal for some parts of your emails to not increase in size, even with the Larger Text Accessibility feature enabled. This is due to certain ways emails are formatted not working with Dynamic Type. Another option is to use the Zoom Accessibility feature when going through your emails. This can be enabled in Settings > General > Accessibility. For information on how to use this feature, take a look at Use Accessibility features in iOS, specifically this section:
Zoom
- To turn on Zoom, use three fingers and double-tap the screen.
- To increase the level of Zoom, use three fingers to double-tap and hold, then move your fingers up or down on the screen to increase or decrease magnification.
Take care. -
Oct 5, 2016 6:15 AM in response to jameson.hby BryanCBT,Jameson - Thanks for your response. My point is that I did not have this problem with IOS9 . I understand about zoom but this does not really help in the circumstances. But I believe you are correct about emails are formatted not working with Dynamic Type".However, it worked before with IOS9.
