Q: Cannot re-install after HD issue, error 2203 on ALL services
My problem seems to be very specific and no help over the internet seems to work
- What happened?
I run my system on a SSD, and install my programs on an HDD to keep the SSD free for games. My HDD got corrupted and had to be reinstalled. Thanks to the fact that Windows is safe in the SSD, this was not an issue, all I had to do was re-install the programs that were on the HDD.
- Unable to install or uninstall previous installation
iTunes (and the pack of apple support, install, bounjur, ipod etc.. services that come with it) would not even install (option = repair) or uninstall. Always would return an error. So I proceeded to manually remove them:
+ Cleaned up Windows registry of all entry on iTunes and Apple
+ Deleted all folders and files
+ run Windows Installer Clean Up to ensure they were all gone
This is often where any help on the internet stops, supposedly I would be able to install now that the old install is terminated, but ...
- Install no longer sees old version, even have the checkbox to install Apple Update, still no luck
Error 2203 like 4 or 5 times and terminates with "install failed, no modification". I suppose the 4 or 5 times is for each service it tries to install (Bonjour, Updates, etc..).
I am running the correct installer version, and even the old version I had backup (which is not that old 12.5.1.21). But it will ALWAYS FAIL WITH ERROR 2203.
Insights?
Windows 10 64bit
PC, Windows 10

I did a search on error 2203, and hit a motherlode of responses using Google. It appears that this is a generic Windows error created when the Windows Installer package gets corrupted either through a bad download or a bad registry entry.
Microsoft's forum recommends stopping the install process and then restarting it, but I have doubts whether that would resolve the issue.
Do a Google search worded like this: Apple support; error 2203
