Q: Problem with Search in iOS 10 Mail app

When I use the Search feature in the iOS 10 Mail app to search for a message, if I select an email, read the email and then use "< Search" at the top of the screen to return to the search results I can either select a different email or cancel the search. This is the expected behavior.

However, if I follow a link in the email and then attempt to use "< Search" to return to the search results, what I see is a list of all the emails in the mailbox I've searched. In other words, I am not returned to the list of emails retrieved by the Search. Furthermore, there is no Search field above the message list.

Has anyone else observed this?

iPad, iOS 10

You don't have to click a link in an email to trigger this bug. If you just switch to safari then return to the email, that's enough to trigger it.

You're right! But the problem is not with Safari. Searching in Mail is incompatible with App Switcher. Once I select an email after searching, even switching to the Settings app is sufficient to make the search box disappear when I return to the Mail app and click on "< Search".
