So this is my first iPhone, and i only have one problem. On my old Galaxy could send and receive pictures through text message without having to turn on mobile data. But with my new iPhone 7+ I have to turn on cellular data first to either receive or sent a picture message. Is there any way to have it automatically do that, or do I have to suffer.

You can still use your carrier's SMS and MMS services without using data. Those services both use the voice "channel" of your phone.
If you are using Apple's iMessage, that requires data. Cellular or wifi.

SMS texts (text only) do not require a data connection. MMS texts require both a cellular voice and a cellular data connection. Always have and still do. Apple's iMessage internet service requires an internet connection, either ceullar internet or wifi.
It has to be on to receive MMS and there is no way to automatically do it.
On an iPhone using MMS also requires cell data to be on.
