the preview window doesn't show the document I am about to print in Sierra

The preview window doesn't show the document I am about to print. This issue started as soon as I upgraded to Sierra. It occurs in many apps - most notably in Microsoft Excel 2011.

Greetings David Bry1,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that when you try to print from a number of different apps, you aren't seeing the preview of the document that you are printing. I would want to make sure that I see the preview as well when I print. Let's see how we can get this resolved.

I would advise to make sure that the printer software is up to date on your Brother DCP-7065DN printer. Please choose 'Software available' under Brother in Printer and scanner software for macOS Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, and Mavericks

If there is a software update available, please install, and then test and see if you get the same result.

Have an amazing day!

I have a similar problem. The upper half of the Preview window is blank, and the lower half shows only the top half of the document page. I have updated the driver for my Brother printer (HL-5370DW), but that did not fix the problem. Any other suggestions? It is always annoying when an OS "improvement" makes things worse.
