Where is bounce in place in Logic Pro X?

In my search for a tutorial about splitting a stereo track into two mono tracks several refer to using "bounce in place", in the File menu. No such option in mine! (version 10.2.4 build 4369.43)

One tutorial that uses BIP was dealing with a midi track instead of an audio track so I created a midi track, but still no option to BIP appeared in the File menu.

The only bounce-related option in my File menu is "Bounce Project or Section". There's no Bounce> pop-out menu in my File menu.

Likewise, in another tutorial about splitting a stereo track it says:

In the Mixer on your >Stereo Out< choose >Bnce<

In the appearing window you're now able to configure >File Type< >Split<, providing the result you're after.

Not in my mixer. There's a stereo button in the track strip but the only way to get the Stereo button to display anything is to right-click on it, and then there's no option to "bounce" or "bnce", just options to send to various buses.

Am I in the Twilight Zone?

Thank you, CCTM! That solved several mysteries.

In case anyone encounters the same issue while trying to split a stereo track into two mono tracks, this post revealed another part of the solution. At first, even after I was able to convert and split the stereo track into two files, when I imported the left channel track the right channel was automatically included, effectively recreating the stereo track I had just split! The key was to replace the period before the L in the file name with a space. Now I'm able to truly split the stereo track into two mono tracks and bring only the one I want back in. Whew.
