Oct 1, 2016 3:21 AM in response to ldchesebroby turingtest2,For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. When reinstalling temporarily disable any anti-virus software and right-click on the downloaded setup file and use run as administrator.
Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with third party software.
Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Oct 3, 2016 1:32 PM in response to ldchesebroby turingtest2,Have you tried the "for older video cards" release?
Have you tried reinstalling the last version that worked for you?
When do you get that error? Have you tried using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall utility with the install phase?

Oct 8, 2016 4:14 AM in response to ldchesebroby andrewfromlp,I have the same exact problem and can't fix the issue, so I basically no longer have iTunes.
It's very frustrating, especially with Apple having a seemingly undeserved reputation as being easy to use.

Oct 22, 2016 9:06 PM in response to andrewfromlpby joefromharrisonburg,Hey I had this exact same problem after the windows update. Just to be sure, did you uninstall absolutely everything that is listed under Apple in the Control Panel? (Bonjour, application support, Software update, etc) I couldn't get iTunes to run and had iTunesadmin.dll fail to register until I uninstalled all. Then I tried again and it went through.

Oct 24, 2016 4:25 AM in response to Peteravrby andrewfromlp,I tried deletign and re-installing components, but, I've reached my limit. I'm not a computer professional or computer programmer, so there's only so much I can do. It's really frustrating how unhelpful Apple is.
I'm left with no iTunes and searching for another service provider from whom to purchase music, videos and movies.
