Q: Make macOS Calendar's dock icon to show weekday instead of month

The Calendar's dock icon in macOS shows month unlike in iOS which shows weekday. I prefer weekday or both weekday and month to be on Calendar's icon rather the month. Is there a setting for this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Mine is set to week day, but I don't see anything in preferences to select for this option.

Try setting up a test account or use the Guest user. See if the problem's global, or just related to your account.

    CREATE A NEW USER

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Users & Groups.

Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.

You can skip signing in with your Apple ID unless you need to test iCloud Mail.

Personally, I never look at the dock icon. I prefer to check in my Menu bar. You can add Month and day in System Preferences > Date & Time > Clock > Date Options.
