Q: Changing the metadata fields in the Info pane

Is it possible to change the metadata that is displayed in the Info pane?

For example, I'd like to be able to see "Time Zone" without having to individual access each photo.

Also, is there is shortcut for "Adjust Time and Date"?

Thank you

There is no predefined shortcut, but you can add one yourself.

    • Open System Preferences > Keyboard, then the tab "Shortcuts".

    • Select "App Shortcuts" in the left column and click "+"
    • In the "Application" menu select "Photos.app". Then enter the title "Adjust Date and Time..." and enter a key combination.

Photos will now show the keyboard shortcut you picked in the Image menu.

The Info panel has a fixed layout. You cannot add additional items.

    As to the timezone:

Photos will use the "Medium" format for Dates and Times to display the date and Time in the Info panel.  If you change the format in System Preferences > Language & Region > Advanced to include the timezone, Photos will show a time zone suffice.  Only this is buggy.  It will show the time zone suffix for the timezone you are currently in, not the timezone that is used for the photos time stamp.

I use these settings for System Preferences > Language & Region > Advanced

And Photos is now showing this in the Info panel:

    Screen Shot2.jpg

As you can see, the timezone for my current system time (GMT+2) is shown, and not GMT+7, as would have been correct for Bali.  Only the "Adjust Date&Time" panel is showing the correct timezone for the timestamp of the photo.

    Thanks Leonie.

I only have the Time Zone (e.g. GMT) displaying for "long" and "full". How do I add it to medium?

You can modify the presets in the "System Preferences > Language & Region > Advanced" pane by dragging different elements from the "time Elements" section of the pane to the different formats.  You can drag and arrange the elements there as you like them and enter separator characters by typing them.
