Q: When syncing Photos to iPhone 5s I'm getting an unusual error message

Screen Shot 2016-09-28 at 22.34.22.png

I have Ipad Pro, Mini and two iPhone 5s.  Three sync Photos fine but one, iPhone 5s, throws up the above error.

"...fullsizeoutput_dff.jpeg are not copied"  I can't find any JPEG images in my library.  Grateful for any ideas ?

iPhone 5s, iOS 10.0.2

The error message seems quite clear. iTunes was not able to find those JPEG files where it was told they are stored.

On the Mac storing those files, can you search for any one of them and compare that to your iTunes settings?

When you selected the various folders of photos in iTunes before starting the sync, it seems one or more of those folders has missing files.

    Thanks for your comments.

I'm syncing whole Photo library and I've searched the Mac as suggested for the "missing" files but no such files held.  Checked back using Time Machine backups and no files with these names ever held.  Puzzled. ?

Just a nuisance more than anything - if the files don't exist why is iTunes trying to sync them. Also confused as it is only happening to one device - other 3 sync no problem with same settings.

It is trying because you told it to.

Can you see those "missing" files on the other devices? If they are indeed missing on the same host Mac, I am not sure how iTunes could have synced them or not generated the same error message.

Can you see those missing files in your Photos Library?

Are you 100% sure your sync settings are the same between devices?

I assume you are seeing this dialog in iTunes.

    Thanks of your time.

Setup is exactly as you've suggested.  Finally gave in and did complete Restore (as a new phone) which seems to have "solved" the problem.  All photos now syncing correctly.

Still intrigued as to the files it was looking for as I've never knowingly used those file names.

    Still, problem solved.  Thanks again.

    You're welcome.

    Glad to hear it's resolved.
