iPhone 6 notes app keeps crashing

Starting last night my notes app will crash every time I open it. the app will open for a few seconds and a then it will shut down. If I double click the home button I can see the app there as if I clicked out of it to work on something else; but as soon as I click it to bring it forward it will do the same thing and crash again. I've ahut down and restarted my iPhone and have tried a reset, but it's still happening.

I haven't seen anything on the web recently about this... so am I the only one? Can anyone help me fix this? 😟

Hi missjaima,

Try these steps:

1. Shutdown all applications

2. Go to options and go to iCloud

3. Turn on ICloud for notes.

4. Create the necessary ID, etc

5. Shutdown your IPad

6. Turn it back on and start up notes

Ended up fixing my dad's by doing a hard reset (power button + home button until phone reboots).

OK this reply sort of worked, and guided me to figure out what I needed to do. I ended up going to Settings > General > iCloud then toggled the Notes to off and let it delete my notes off my iPhone, then toggled it back on. After doing that it now works!

This was clearly and issue with my iPhone only, because I was able to access my notes on my iPad and in iCloud.com; very odd. Just happy it works now.

The only thing I would note here is be sure to go to Settings > iCloud > Notes toggle off then on. If you go to Settings > General > there's an option for Storage & iCloud Usage. You don't want to delete Notes there because that will remove all Notes from iCloud and all devices.

Go back into Notes, it will take a second to re-load all your Notes from the cloud.

I was without my Notes for weeks now since I updated to the 10.0.2 software. I'm so glad I found this info!

It seems that in notes application there is "weak spot" in the way it handles http addresses. My ipad notes crashed immeadiately after I pasted web address to a note. That was recovered by doing the above procedure.

This worked for me. Settings/iCloud... Toggle Notes Off, then back On. Looking back, it appeared to crash when iCloud tried to sync notes.
