iPhone 7 Plus Camera - Pictures are bad

are you exchanging a set or returning the set? I would like to know if the problem persist in a new set as well. My country here doesnt have a return policy, at best an exchange.

Same problem here: my 4s takes better pictures. Tried several store display units (6 different devices tested now) and they all have the same issue. I really can not recommend this phone to anyone right now. Would be a great idea to fix this ASAP. If it's hardware related it's clearly a flaw.

I will try to exchange it. I hope there is a unit with normal working camera at the store.

Same here. Absolutely horrible pictures. I was considering the 7 then went with the 7+ because of (supposedly) better pictures. If you use your phone as a camera do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase the 7+ until they figure this out.

It wouldn't be that bad though if it weren't that the reception is terrible too.

I am having the exact same problem. This is clearly an issue with the compression of the image. You can can see a perfectly clear image through your camera before taking the photo, but all the resulting photos are very low quality. This is immediately noticeable and some kind of (hopefully software) error.

I'll be contacting support, but based on the other information here it seems like there isn't a current fix, which I assume would allow me to return the device until a fix is available.

I got the same problem too! The image quality is bad with many noise and without details. The white balance is terrible too! I was using iPhone 6s Plus before and the image are pretty good!

I am using iPhone 7 plus 256GB with IOS 10.1.1.

One can try to download the original image to a PC computer and you can find how bad the image quality is!

I urge Apple to fix the issue a.s.a.p and for others, please keep posting and reporting if you got similar problem / have any solutions.

Here are a few images of detail at 100%. The edges are blotchy everywhere. Daylight and indoors with bright light.

I discussed this with Apple Suppirt and they seemed to be understanding but then just gave me the standard "good photo" tips and made me an appt. at the Genius Bar.

Exactly my case too..

Try taking pictures of objects at mid range distance, especially of objects with a lot of details or fuzzy edges like hair and furs.

I agree that it's most easily recognizable as a problem when you take a picture of anything more than a foot away.

Finally, someone else who also notices that the white balance is horrible. Guys, check the white balance of your photos beside the "water painting" you are talking about. It will be best to compare photos with white parts inside.

Also, I will like to highlight these problems are not only affecting just iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7 is also affected.

The first thing I noticed was how yellowish all the photos were. Can't see a single white in all the photos.
