Email troubles after iOS upgrade

I Installed iOS 10.02 last night and while I get email coming in, when I open it, there is no message. I have tried to delete and instal email accounts. Any ideas how to trouble shoot?

Greetings SooperDoc,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see that after installing iOS 10, you are having an issue with getting email coming in. I can understand wanting to get this taken care of as quickly as possible. I'm here to help.

It sounds to me like the Mail app isn't responding. Try to force close the Mail app by double-tapping the home button, and then swiping up to close. Then, open again and try to access a message to see if you get the same result.

For help force closing an app, see this article: Force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Best Regards.

Hello SooperDoc,

Thanks for trying that step. We have a couple more things for you to try.

First, please make sure that you have a backup of your iPhone's important data using this article: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Then, use this article to restore your iPhone to factory settings: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Once you've restored to factory, set up the iPhone as new. And use Set up an email account on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to set up your email and then test to see if you get the same result.

Additionally, here is an article that will help you restore from your backup: Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

Have a great day!
