Graphics problem post-upgrading to MacOs Sierra

I am on a 13" Macbook Pro Early 2015, I was using El Capitan before and had no issues at all. Post MacOs Sierra installation, screen would turn into jumbled 8-bit like graphics after waking up from sleep! Screen would stay the same . until restart!

Would love to have a solution for this..

Hi. I am having similar issues with Sierra 10.12.3 on my 2015 iMac 5k. Graphical glitches (bits of gui flashing white every now and then - spotted in iTunes and Garageband '11) as well as a whole screen of multicoloured junk appearing when I shut down (may a third of the time). Looks like graphics driver problems to me but not seeing much mention online (just one other forum where someone mentions it).

El Capitan seemed much more stable. I'd roll back if I hadn't forgotten to stop Carbon Copy Cloner backing up the new OS! Clean install seems very drastic...

I have exactly this problem.

When I shut down my iMac 5K, about 90% of the time, I get the graphical glitches when shutting down. Sometimes at shutdown, the screen appears to go black but it's still got some backlight behind it and I have to force the Mac to shutdown via the power button.

Every Sierra update causes the computer screen to sleep and go to the login screen frequently and the only thing to fix it is resetting the PRAM.

Most frustrating!

Hi ph33nix,

I see that after upgrading your Mac to Sierra, you're now noticing some distorted or scrambled video after you wake your computer from sleep. This definitely doesn't sound normal; I'm happy to help!

As a first step, I recommend that your reset your Mac's NVRAM. This can help to resolve issues like the one you're experiencing. Take a look at this website for more information:
