Device: iPhone 7 Plus
iOS: 10.0.2
Issue: Screen flashes with blank white light while taking photo using front camera with flash light on which is so annoying
Note:
After taking the pic, the photo is visible and does not have any issue
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.0.2
I Could be wrong but I believe that is how the flash works for the front facing camera.
JGibb26 is correct. At least on my iPhone 5C, there is no separate flash for the front camera as there is for the rear. The phone uses the screen instead to provide the needed light. My iMac does the same for Photo Booth.
There is no LED flash on the front of the iPhone, so the only source of light for a flash is the display backlights.
This is a feature known as Retina Flash, where the display can temporarily become much brighter than it can during normal use. This feature was first introduced on the 6s (I think) and is also included on the SE. If you've never used any of these devices before getting your 7 Plus, it may seem a little unusual at first.
Thank you. Understood this is the functionality.
