Q: OS SIERRA UPGRADE

Hi,

I was using El-Capitan with Windows 10 without any issues, but after up grade to Sierra following issues has been surfaced,

1- Can not make partition to HDD through disk utility.

2- When switch to Win 10 the Macintosh drive is not available ( before up grade to Sierra, the Macintosh drive was available)

I have re-installed Sierra twice but the problem still persists, please assist me to get rid of this situation.

Thanks.

What is the year/model of your Mac? In general, a disk which has both OS X and Windows should not be partitioned further.

2- When switch to Win 10 the Macintosh drive is not available ( before up grade to Sierra, the Macintosh drive was available)

Please post the output of the following OS X Terminal.

    diskutil list

    diskutil cs list

    Hi Loner T,

Thanks for the response. I was googling around to find the resolution to the problem and it is revealed that it is the problem of Microsoft update 1607 for Win 10. After upgrade to Sierra,  I also updated the Win 10 to anniversary edition as well, In fact I could not explain well about the problem, and after getting update 1607 the Macintosh drive disappears from Win 10. Microsoft says the update patch will be released soon to fix this problem and suggested not to do any adventure.

Yourself also mentioned some thing about it under the caption of ,"

Windows 10 Anniversary + Boot Camp = no longer mounting Mac partition

          ".

It is clear now that the particular issue is not due to OS SIERRA , it is the outcome of Microsoft update 1607.

    Thanks

Yes, 1607 and Anniversary Update does not load the Windows Apple HFS drivers. Apple no longer wants to support them either.

Also, if Sierra upgrade converts your OS X partition to Core Storage and/or you enable FileVault, even on older W10 (1511), the drivers will function, but cannot see the OS X partition, but a JHFS+ partition would still be visible.
