Q: my apple tv keeps going to the menu when trying to download apps

I just purchased a new apple tv and when I go to the app store it keeps going back to the main menu. Do I need to return it to the store?

First I'd make sure that the Apple TV's software is up to date, or restart it if it is, then try again.
