Apple Watch Bluetooth Finds No Devices

I have an Apple Watch Series 1. When I try connect it to bluetooth earphones it doesn't find that or any other devices. It just says "searching" for hours on end.

It's paired with my iphone 6s ok and on my phone I can see it say Apple Watch in the Bluetooth section however on the phone it doesn't mention my iPhone, should it?

However when I try to pair my earphones the watch just says searching. The earphones work ok and pair with my iphone so it's not them.

Any ideas thanks.

Hi

To pair Bluetooth headphones with your watch for listening to music from the synced playlist, check that you have placed your Bluetooth headphones into discovery / pairing mode (refer to the manufacturer's instructions) and that you are following the instructions here:

Use Bluetooth accessories with your Apple Watch - Apple Support

You may find that you first need to unpair your headphones from your iPhone (or any other device that they may already be paired with) before you can pair them with your watch.

It may also help to move your watch and headphones to a different location (away from any other active Bluetooth devices) before trying again to pair them.

To check whether your watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth, do not go to the Home screen > Settings > Bluetooth on your watch.

That is how to tell the watch to search for and pair with additional Bluetooth devices (eg headphones or a chest strap heart rate monitor). It is normal for the paired iPhone not to be listed there and for the screen to report "searching".

Instead, under watchOS 3, open Control Centre by swiping up on the display when viewing the time on your watch.

  • If this states Connected and the symbol at the upper-right corner is a green phone symbol, then your watch is connected to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
  • If it states Connected and the symbol at the upper-right corner is a green cloud symbol, then your watch is disconnected from your iPhone via Bluetooth, but has instead connected (as a fallback) to a known Wi-Fi network.

I have been looking for several cheap Bluetooth devices to use with Apple Watch in my runs.

I bought once the Syllable D700 witch is an excelent headphone. Cheap and good sound.

After it's battery have died about 1 1/2 year after a lot of use, I bought a generic one that pairs with my iPhone but not with Apple Watch. It even apears on bluetooth device list. Later I bought another, model ST-002, that had the same problem.

I don't know why apple watch is so selective about these devices. It should follow the standard, and if iPhone works with them, Apple Watch also should, that's my opinion.

I am comming back and buying another Syllable for me. That I know works !
