Q: Bluetooth not connecting on iOS 10 and OS sierra

I just bought a iphone 7, apple watch 2 and I updated my computer to sierra yesterday.

I wanted to do the auto unlock with my watch, but my phone is not connecting to the Mac with bluetooth. it wants to connect and the phone appears in the bluetooth settings, it says on my phone to pair if the numbers are the same and then it "fails to connect". so im lost and I can't use my watch.

I have reset my watch (by unpairing), iphone (by restting all settings) and turned restarted my computer.

it seems like the "it just works era" for apple is over.

Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If misery loves company, here I am!!  Just posted my new iphone 7+  BLUETOOTH setting is not "discovering" any of my bluetooth devices (in 2015 Lexus and Bose radio/speaker system).  In addition my iPad and iPad air are also not "discovering" devices!!  I believe this happened once I installed the latest software ios 10.0.2 on all my devices.  Please respond if you receive any "hints" from someone in the "know"!  Thanks!

I searched on google and it seems like this is a pretty pervasive issue with the latest iOS update

Yes, I found that to be the case also; very disappointed in Apple releasing all this new stuff that doesn't work properly with absolutely no resource for getting the problem resolved!!

    unsupported on iphone 7.PNG

I am amazed that no one from apple support has addressed this issue yet. my brand new phone (and watch) can't do half of what it is supposed to because of a software error in bluetooth, i'm not sure if this is from the new mac os or from the new iOS but i'm pretty upset.

the fact that an apple product cant connect to another apple product is a serous problem.
