Boot Camp Assistant - Cannot Locate ISO

Hello!

I am trying to partition the disk of my MacBook (OSX 10.9.5) to install Windows 10. I have the .ISO file on my desktop, which seems to be intact:

User uploaded file

However, Boot Camp Assistant will not recognize the ISO. I keep getting this message:

User uploaded file

Do I have to have an installer disc in order to install Windows 10? I was under the impression that the ISO file would work....

HELP!

Thank you!

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)

Your model does not support using a USB Installer. You need to use a physical DVD.

Windows 10 cannot be directly installed, using BC Assistant, on your specific Mac. Please see a list of Macs that support W10 in Use Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support . However, you can first install W7/W8.1 and then execute an in-place upgrade to W10. Be aware that there are no Apple-certified drivers for your specific model, if it is not listed.
