Q: Currency Exchange Rates
I wanted to upgrade my iCloud storage but the unadjusted currency exchange rates given by apple are just keeping me back...
in the States i'd pay 99 cents for 50GB per month...
in Japan (where i live) 130¥ what is an equivalent of 1.29US$. (the Japanese ¥ was +/- 1.20US$ in October 2015 until April 2016, then it fell constantly down to +/-1.0 US$
in Australia the same offer is 1.49A$ which is 1.14US$
on the other side
in Singapore: 1.28 S$ which is 94 US cents
In China: 6¥ which is 90 US cents
that is 40 US cents difference (Japan vs China) in one month - a whooping 44%
Yes, these are small amounts, yet multiply it with all the users and months...
I understand that "real" currency exchange rates change daily, but I'd like to understand, while Apple offers only monthly payments (vs yearly) WHILE the rates are not adjusted? And the next question... why isn't there a yearly iCloud storage offer? And... why do all the countries have different (unadjusted) rates instead of 1 single reference rate?
Anyone else wondering?
