Q: Yahoo Account Question

Yes I understand these are the Apple support forums but i don't know where else to ask this and I figured some of you would have the answer to this question.

I deleted my Yahoo account last week but I heard that 500 million Yahoo accounts were hacked in 2014. I made my account in 2015. Im pretty sure it wasn't hacked into since I made my account a year after the supposed hack but if my account was hacked and I deleted it would that be safe?

If your account did not exist in 2014 then it wasn't hacked. Deleting it guarantees it won't be hacked again since it doesn't exist any more. Normally, unless the hackers got access to other info in the account, like credit card numbers, changing your Yahoo password would have been sufficient.

Thanks for the response even though this wasn't an Apple related question.

I figured it wasn't hacked since the account didn't exist in 2014. I never changed the password but I guess it doesn't matter since the account is delete.
